Gina Naves caught this big Lake Berryessa
kokanee recently while fishing with her
husband Jack from the couple’s North
River boat. Kokanee fishing has been hit
and miss at Lake Berryessa. The good
news is that the fish are running large, but
they are not plentiful. The story is much
the same down at New Melones Reservoir
where both rainbow trout and kokanee
are running large, but neither species is
offering limit style action.

After some
uncertain days, the Fish
Sniffer is back in production.
While we aren’t sure if
we are going to print once
per month or every other
week initially as we move
forward, we are back in the
business of delivering hard
hitting fishing news and
information.
Fishing destinations are
slowly opening and things
will get back to normal, but
it’s going to be slow going
for a while.
By all means get outside
and get your fish on, but do
it thoughtfully and use all
