this big yellowtail. The fish put up a
determined struggle, but Amy won
the fight with the help of her Phenix
rod. In addition to yellowtail, the trip
produced calico bass, sheephead and
barracuda.

Fishing Rolls Forward Amid Pandemic…

Howdy Folks,
Cal Kellogg here.
Well, we are back to
fishing, but the COVID 19
pandemic remains a major
concern.
With cases on the rise in
California the situation is
very fluid. Some counties are
ramping up restrictions as
COVID cases rise.
The question is what
happens this fall. Has hot
weather slowed the virus and
the rise is going to increase in
the fall or is the virus peaking
now and the impact in the
fall will be less severe than
expected?
The only
way
we
get a
definitive
answer
is to wait
and see.
It seems
reason-
able that
the number of cases is going to
continue to rise and that we are in
for some rather broad restrictions
come fall. Will the shutdown be
as comprehensive as it was this
spring? Again the only way to
find out is to wait and see.
The task of weighing public
safety against
personal freedom is staggering
and far above my pay
grade.
In closing, my advice
is to stay safe and follow
the directives of experts.
The quicker we get this
pandemic in the rearview, the
