This photo reveals one of the best days of fishing on the Sacramento River anyone can imagine ! She and her mom , Lora Ambrose caught these beauties on August 11th in the Sacramento River below Los Molinos . Loray said her mom was a salmon guide for many years and taught her all her old river secrets ! On this successful day , they were trolling Yakima Bait 5.0 Mag Lips wrapped with krill soaked sardines . They found these fish in narrow stretches of the river away from the other boats . The king salmon ran from 16 to 21 pounds ! Loray said the fishing on the river has been very hit and miss this year . One day you get some nice fish , the next day not . Here is her guide to success . “ Pick your day . Choose holding areas . Have good bait . Watch for jumping fish . Just keep fishing . You ’ ll catch them !”
