the same areas and using the same baits was not necessarily a formula for success . By Monday , May 21 , we were looking for fish on the lake ’ s west side off Wildcat Point , the Broccoli Tree , and Shrimp Island , all of which did not produce fish for us in any numbers . I finally limited the boat back on the east side above Miner ’ s Bay . We trolled grubs and Thomas Boyant spoons in red dot frog and red / gold patterns from 6-15 feet deep here in 20-40 feet of water . Wed June 2 , we broke out the fly rods and nymphed the rock piles between the Broccoli Tree and Wildcat Point back on the west side of th lake . The bite was on and we carefully released numerous fish to fight again . In addition to trolling , I will be offering fly fishing trips through June here at Eagle Lake . Beginners are welcome . SACRAMENTO – Fishing for king salmon on Folsom Lake has picked up over the past month – and the fish are getting bigger . The water temperature is currently 70 degrees at the marina . “ There haven ’ t been many people fishing the lake over the past couple of days , because of windy conditions , but there have been some trout pulled in ,” said Ryan at the Los Vaqueros Marina . “ Most are using PowerBait in red , white and blue .” The fishing is expected to pick up should pick up when calmer weather prevails . Anglers fishing in Peninsula , Cowboy Cove , and Howden coves from rental boats have been pulling in some trout while trolling minnow imitation lures and bait fishing with PowerBait and nightcrawlers . Bank anglers are tossing out PowerBait , nightcrawlers , Kastmasters and other offerings in the South Cove , at the pier near the marina , and on other areas on the lake . Most keeper stripers being caught are in the 18 to 24-inch class . Anglers are tossing out anchovies or big swimbaits and top water lures to entice the stripers . The pier near the marina is a good spot to target stripers from the bank . Anglers are also catching and releasing largemouth bass from shore while using drop shot rigs . Most bass are in the 1 to 2 lb . range , but larger fish are possible . The water level is currently at 9,800 acre feet . The water clarity has been good except for windy days . Kokanee and Black Bass Fishing Shifts Into High Gear

ANGELS CAMP – Kokanee are lighting it up on New Melones with anglers bringing in plenty of limits . Trolling at 1.5 mph seems to be a good speed , and the Kokanee are biting on lots of different setups .
