BULLARDS BAR … Kokanee are on the bite at Bullards Bar . Reservoir . Most fish are in the 10-11 inch range . Trollers are hooking the fish at 20 to 30 feet deep while using Brad ’ s Kokanee Cut Plugs in Pink Magic and Hot Melon .
LAKE AMADOR … Trollers and bank
2 . anglers are nailing trout . Rapalas are working best when slow trolled , while PowerBait , Mice Tails and Kastmasters are working well from the shore .
FEATHER RIVER ... Anglers report solid
3 . steelhead fishing in the low flow area below the fish hatchery . Quality fish to 8 pounds can be caught by anglers using a bobber and worm combo or bobber with a small fluke .
SUISUN BAY / CARQUINEZ STRAIT …
4 . Fisherman are catching and releasing white sturgeon in the deep water . The top baits are lamprey eel and salmon roe .
GOOD BETS …

SACRAMENTO RIVER … Sturgeon were starting to bite prior to the storms and once the river stabilizes , the bite is expected to get really good from Knights Landing to Colusa . Salmon roe , eel , and shrimp baits should do the trick .
COLLINS LAKE … Trout in the 3 to 10
6 . pound range are being caught by anglers anchored off the shore line and casting into shallow water . Fish green garlic PowerBait in 2-4 feet of water .
PYRAMID LAKE … Fly fishing for
7 . Lahontan cutthroats at Pyramid lake continues to improve . The most productive flies , when presented along the shoreline near mudlines , include the Pyramid Lake Tadpole , Pyramid Lake Beetle , and the Pyramid Lake Bugger .
FOLSOM LAKE … Prior to the storms ,
8 . trout fishing was solid with most fish in the 12-16 inch range , along with a few holdovers to 3 pounds . Expect fishing to pick up as the water settles .

LAKE OROVILLE … The water level on
Lake Oroville continues to rise , which is great news for bass anglers in the coming weeks . Slow finesse presentations like slow dragging Ned Rigs and shakeyhead jigs work best .
CENTRAL COAST … Expect improving
10 . surfperch action with the arrival of calm seas . Calissa ’ s and Lucky Craft jerkbaits work well for the larger grade fish , while Carolina Rigs with soft plastics are also producing fish .
MOKELUMNE RIVER … The river
11 . below Camanche Dam opened to steelhead and trout fishing on Jan . 1 . Anglers should use Glo Bugs , steelhead flies and nightcrawlers .
DON PEDRO … The lake level has
12 . increased significantly and will result in good water conditions for rainbows , kokanee , kings and bass this winter , spring and summer .

LOS VAQUEROS … Los Vaqueros
15 . Reservoir closed on Dec . 31st due to mudslides and flooding . Once the reservoir completely reopens , shore anglers and trollers should experience solid trout and striped bass fishing .
SMITH RIVER ... Steelhead fishing
16 . should improve as more fish more into the river in the coming weeks . Side drifting with salmon roe is the most popular method , but using spinners , spoons , flies and plugs will also work .
