Trout Angler ’ s Challenge - presented by Lasher ’ s Elk Grove Dodge , is less than TEN DAYS away , and Lake Amador , in Ione CA , will be the site of our exciting Pre-Spring Slugfest . But as our mid-season Trout-Bout begins on

March 11th at Lake Amador , the “ angler of the year stats ” have yet to be determined , and EVERYONE participating in this tournament will still have a chance at capturing the prestigious angler of the year title . However , you should also note that all Lake Amador NTAC participants will have a chance at winning some great cash , prizes , and get a shot at participating in the big year-end tournament of champions event too . And for those of you that have never fished an NTAC event , or don ’ t know what the NTAC is all about - here ’ s the scoop : The NTAC is what we call the “ every man ’ s ” or “ every families ” trout fishing event as each event offers up a TON of cash to win , along with gear and other goodies - all for very low entry fee of just $ 25 dollars . And get this ... kids 15

and under fish free ! As if that ’ s not enough , top finishers throughout the year are invited to participate in the season ending “ Tournament of Champions ” shootout - presented by Lasher ’ s Elk Grove Dodge , where the overall winner will be awarded an awesome prize package . Because Angler ’ s Press Outdoors recognizes the financial challenges that many anglers face these days - especially those raising families , this series has been structured in a manner that will allow anglers - on a budget , to still be able to enjoy the thrill of competition . Along these same lines , the dates and destinations for all NTAC tournaments were given special consideration to ensure that the time of the year and venue set the stage for a level playing field for both boaters and bank anglers . In other

words , the tournaments are held at certain destinations at certain times of the year when bank bound dough slingers , kayakers , and float tube trollers have just as much chance of winning the tournament as a guy equipped with a 25 foot aluminum sled decked out with downriggers and the latest electronics . Winter trout season is in full swing , and rainbows like this are waiting for anglers that are willing to brave cool weather at foothill reservoirs . Here , Jack Naves hoists up a beautiful rainbow trout on the waters of Lake Camanche on February 19 . This fish inhaled a 3-inch white Berkley PowerBait Power Grub trolled 50 feet behind a side planer board at 1.4 mph .
