LAKE TAHOE
Kokanee Bite Is Hot As Mackinaw Bite Slows
Lake Tahoe - With summer coming to an end , the boat traffic on Lake Tahoe has definitely slowed down . The mackinaw bite has been slower than normal compared to years past . The mysid shrimp are making a comeback and where the mackinaw use to be in big numbers are now gone chasing shrimp . If you time your fishing holes right , you still can find a consistent bite . Mackinaw will pull into certain areas after they are done feeding and hold . That is a good time to troll through those areas and get some bites . We are catching fish 1-7lbs in 120-240 feet . The kokanne bite still continues to be strong in South Shore where people are finding easy limits . With the fall around the corner , you will see a lot of anglers chasing rainbows close to shore where there are rocks that hold minnows and crawfish . Troll some Rapalas in those areas and you ’ ll find some nice fish lurking around .

The weather has been amazing this week , with light rain , overcast , and pleasant air temperatures daily . Most anglers are dusting off their waders , and getting ready for the fall season and cooler water . This week it is expected to switch to more sunny days , but the air temps will remain cool . Fall is definitely in the air and this year we have the water , weather , and happy fish to look forward to . It should be a banner season , don ’ t miss out !
