California Dawn Sportfishing made another run to Rittenburg and it did not disappoint . Their final score for the day was 24 limits of rockfish and 24 limits of lingcod .

during the week and weekend .” Since September 1 , the 50-fathom Rockfish Conservation Area ( RCA ) boundary line for the Mendocino Groundfish Management Area ( GMA ) ( Cape Mendocino to Point Arena ), San Francisco GMA ( Point Arena to Pigeon Point ) and Central GMA ( Pigeon Point to Point Conception ), has been in effect . In these GMAs , Recreational boat-based groundfish fishing will be ‘ offshore only ’ and allowed only seaward ( away from land ) of the 50-fathom boundary line , defined by straight lines connecting waypoints ( 50 CFR Part 660 , Subpart G ). Shelf rockfish , slope rockfish and lingcod may be taken seaward of the 50-fathom boundary line , while it will be unlawful to take or possess nearshore rockfish as defined in Title 14 , Section 1.91 ( a )( 1 ), cabezon or greenlings at any depth .

Deep Water Rockfish , Halibut Top Catches
MONTEREY – If you want to catch a limit of big deep water rockfish , now is the time to go fishing out of Fisherman ’ s Wharf . The 19 anglers aboard the Checkmate out of Chris ’ Fishing Trips landed 190 rockfish ( limits ) and 2 lingcod on Saturday , October 28 . The 19 anglers aboard the Caroline bagged 190 rockfish ( limits ) the same day . A trip aboard the Checkmate on October 27 produced 250 rockfish ( limits ) and 5 lingcod for 25 anglers . A fishing adventure aboard the Star of Monterey the same day yielded 420 rockfish ( limits ) for 42 anglers . Anglers are using an array of shrimp flies , bars , jigs , squid strips and live bait to hook the rockfish and lingcod . Fisherman are focusing on deep water rockfish out of Santa Cruz also . “ The deep water rock fishing was great near Davenport ,” stated Todd Fraser of Bayside Marine . “ There were a few boats looking for tuna near the
