King Salmon Bite Begins !

OROVILLE – The landlocked king salmon bite at Lake Oroville has finally busted loose . “ We had a great day on Lake Oroville ,” reported Rob Reimers of Rustic Rob ’ s Guide Service after his latest trolling adventure on Lake Oroville . “ The smallest king was 15.5 ”, the biggest 3 fish were in the 17.5 to 18 ” range . We also landed one 4.5 lb . trout These fish were Joe ’ s first landlocked kings . I ’ d say Oroville is alive again !.” “ I used Brad ’ s Cut Plugs and Kokanee Cut Plugs behind 8 inch Pro-Troll Dodgers ,” said Reimers . “ I used a 18 inch leader between the lure and the flasher . This year we are going to have some fish in there . It ’ s going to be good fishing . I ’ m amazed by the size of the salmon are getting already .” The two anglers ended up with a total of 10 fish , including the big wild rainbow trout . Very few anglers have reported on bass fishing at Oroville lately . On his most recent trip to Oroville , Dave Koistenen reported his best bass success while trolling in the middle fork wit a 3 inch zman smelt swimbait in 20 to 30 ft . of water . “ Get your bait on or near bottom ,” he advised “ A 3 / 16 oz dart head jig
