The Foreman Creek , Nelson Bar , Stringtown and Vinton Gulch car top ramps are also open to boat launching . Lake Oroville is holding 3,527,622 acre feet of water , 100 percent of capacity and 125 percent of average . Total releases to the Feather River amount to 2,300 cfs with 650 cfs being routed down the Low Flow Channel through the City of Oroville . An additional 1,650 cfs is being released from the Thermalito Afterbay River Outlet , located 5 miles downstream from Oroville . Total Feather River releases may be further reduced over the weekend . DWR continues to assess Feather River releases daily . Upstream migrating fish totals through the Feather River Fish Monitoring Station between Jan . 1 and May 19 are : Spring-run Chinook salmon : 3,167 Fall-run Chinook salmon : 42 Steelhead : 830 Due to higher flows in the lowflow channel of the Feather River between Feb . 26 and March 18 , some fish swam over the monitoring station and were not counted in upstream migration totals .

Reservoir , but the water temperature is 65 ° right now , so this opportunity won ’ t last long , according to the Los Vaqueros Marina . During the last plant , Los Vaqueros Watershed received 2000 pounds of Mt . Lassen trout on the morning of May 21 . Big fish honors go to Edgardo Hernandez of Livermore , who landed a 9.5-pound rainbow while fishing from shore at Los Vaqueros . Carl Weiler of Livermore caught a 5 .. 86 lb . rainbow while fishing PowerBait from shore near the fishing dock . Shore anglers are experiencing the most success using garlic scented PowerBait , nightcrawlers and white jigs . Trolling is doing fairly well , especially in the backs of coves . Shore anglers continue to hook some striped bass while tossing out anchovies in the South Cove and off the fishing pier near the marina . The keeper fish average 18 to 21 inches long . Anglers targeting channel cats are fishing chicken livers in the South Cove and elsewhere on the lake . The catfish being caught average 2 to 5 pounds , but bigger fish are out there . The water level is currently at 137,000 acre feet , as of May 28 , 2024 . Boating has been limited due to
