SF BAY .… Schools of big striped bass and halibut are in the bay and anglers
are capitalizing while drifting live bait , casting soft plastics and swimbaits .
BODEGA BAY … Limits of big rockfish
4 . and lingcod are being caught while using shrimp flies tipped with squid , swimbaits , and other soft plastics .
GOOD BETS …
CALIFORNIA DELTA … The
5 . largemouth bass bite has turned on for anglers using frogs , punching and flipping . Stripers are starting to show in good numbers and trollers are putting quality fish in the box .
LOS VAQUEROS … Catfish plants
6 . continue and anglers are catching trophy sized fish while using chicken liver and anchovies . Stripers are also being caught while using anchovies and tossing lures .
FOLSOM LAKE … Big king salmon
7 . tipping the scales at 7 plus pounds are being caught by trollers fishing the main body of the lake . The big kings have been caught on clown colored spoons but soft plastics and small flies have also been productive .
LAKE TAHOE … The kokanee bite
8 . has heated up and mackinaw are still being caught for anglers willing to work for them .

FEATHER RIVER … The summer time
9 . striper bite is on fire for anglers trolling and casting lures at night . Limits and big fish are in the mix for anglers who know the river well .
SAN JOAQUIN RIVER … The
10 . striper bite typically busts open in the month of August for trollers and lure tossers . Few talk about it but big fish are often caught in the month of August .
CENTRAL COAST … Anglers
11 . fishing from the beach while using Carolina rigs with a crappie slider are landing good numbers of surf perch . The rockfish and lingcod bite is starting to pick up as well .
LAKE AMADOR … The bass are
