Thomas Lures Speedy Shiner catches lots of trout fast!

One of the latest trends in trolling for trout involves, speed, speed and more speed! Many of the most successful guides are now trolling their lures from 2.8 up to 4 miles per hour! One of the few lures that can handle that kind of speed without rolling over and twisting line is the very popular Thomas Speedy Shiner.

“ The“ Speedy Shiner” style of
lure appears to date back to the 1960’ s,” says Peter Ridd of Thomas Lures, makers of the Speedy Shiner.“ The lure probably originated in Maine. Back in those days a lot of companies were turning out spinning gear. It was customary then to offer a line of lures to go with your gear. The Speedy Shiner style lure was knocked off by a lot of different companies and there have been a lot of slightly different configurations of the spoon we market today.” These days Speedy Shiners are offered in a three different sizes and over 30 colors. The Speedy Shiner is a highly effective lightweight trolling spoon for all types of game fish, especially trout, landlocked salmon, and kokanee. It is
constructed of quality solid brass and has stainless steel split rings and extra-strong VMC Cone-Cut ® hooks that grab and hold! Highly reflective
plated and embossed scale pattern surface, and durable painted finishes, create an enticing flash that attracts even the wariest of fish and triggers them to strike. The Speedy Shiner is effective at any speed, but is most deadly when trolled quite rapidly. Some of our favorite colors of Speedy Shiner are Red / Gold, Firetiger, Red Racer, Sunrise Copper, Red Dot Frog, Perch, Rainbow Trout and Watermelon. There are over 30 colors to choose from in 2 ½”, 3 ¼” and 4” sizes, and all Made in the USA For more information about Speedy Shiners and all Thomas Lures, ask for them at your local tackle dealer, or see them online at www. thomaslures. com
