HOT BITES...
1.
AMERICAN RIVER STEELHEAD… Steelhead
are surging into the river and anglers are
hooking fish. Flies, roe, nightcrawlers and spoons are
producing fish that range from 4 to 11 pounds.
2.
AMADOR TROUT… Lightning trout and
rainbows that range up to and beyond 7 pounds
are on the bite. PowerBait and Rapalas are the top
performers.
3.
S.F. BAY PERCH… The surfperch bite is on for
bank anglers around the bay. Pile worms and
grass shrimp work best, but white prawns create
action too.
4.
NEW MELONES BASS… Spots and
largemouths are chomping baits. Senkos, 6 inch
Robo Worms and swimbaits are hooking fish to 8
lbs. when worked in water ranging from 15 to 40 feet
deep.
GOOD BETS…

CLEAR LAKE CATS… Live shiners, night
crawlers and mackerel fillets are tempting
whiskerfish that range up to 15 pounds. Crappie
are available as well for anglers working jigs and
minnows.

SUISUN STURGEON… The sturgeon bite is
solid for anglers working in both shallow and
deep water. Eel works best followed by ghost shrimp
and roe.

ROGUE STEEL… Steelhead are surging up
river and plunkers are hooking them. Roe and
sand shrimp teamed with Spin ‘N’ Glows are doing
the damage.

SANTA CRUZ SANDDABS… Sanddabs are
providing excitement and great eating for Central
Coast anglers. Squid strips fished on the bottom is the
bait of choice.
SLEEPERS…
9.
FOLSOM LAKE BASS… The lake’s spots dont
care about the cold water temperature and are
on a good bite. To catch bass to 4 pounds, probe
main lake structure with finesse worms and darter
head rigged grubs.
10.
TAHOE MACKINAW… Steady limits of
mackinaw are being landed by anglers trolling
small spoons and minnows. Most of the fish go 3 to
6 lbs.
11.
SAN PABLO BAY STURGEON… Muddy
water has arrived and sturgeon are cruising
the flats. Mud shrimp, ghost shrimp, pile worms and
eel are all drawing pumps.

slingers willing to brave deep snow and cold
are hooking up. Nymphs and streamers are the ticket
for browns and ‘bows that can run up to 3 pounds.
