using a rainbow runner off the back side
of the Peninsula.,” noted Sullivan.
Lawrence of San Jose caught his limit
on trout - the largest weighing six-and-
a-quarter pounds. He was fishing from
the peninsula and with Mice Tails. Erwin
caught a five-and-a-half pound trout from
Fisherman’s Row using PowerBait.
The park district stocked 750 pounds of
channel cats in the lake the week of June
17-21.
Just ask Harley of Fremont, who caught
an eight-pound catfish from the fishing
pier with a worm. Six-year old Roman also
caught a six-and-three-quarters-pound
catfish while soaking anchovies from the
Peninsula.
In Shadow Cliffs Reservoir, the weather
has been hot and has slowed trout fishing.
“As the temperatures continue to increase
through the summer, the remaining trout
will head for deep, cold water, so you will
need to either be in a boat or fishing in
deep water to get to them.” Sullivan added.

HERALD – The surface water
temperature at Rancho Seco Lake is
now too warm to plant rainbow trout,
but plants will resume this fall during the
week of October 28 when 500 pounds
of trophy rainbows will be stocked in
Rancho Seco.

of trout will have been planted by the

redear sunfish, crappie and bluegill

worms, spinnerbaits and jigs.
For redear sunfish, crappie and
bluegill, anglers should fish small jigs,
