“When I am
fishing a frog or
flipping matted
vegetation, I
am throwing the
new X-TCB 8
Carrier Braided
Line form P-Line.
It is critical to
be stealthy with
both techniques,
and with P-line’s
new braid, you
can make longer
casts and it is
ultra quiet com-
ing through the
grass.”

HOT BITES...
1.
GOLDEN GATE SALMON… Limits and near
limits are the rule for trollers working beyond the
north and south bars. Rigged tray bait anchovies are
producing kings to 25 pounds.
2.
EAGLE LAKE RAINBOWS… Trout fishing is
going strong at Eagle Lake for anglers pulling
spoons, flies and Rapalas. The average trout is 2.5
pounds and big fish can range up to 4.
3.
BUCKS LAKE MIXED BAG… Anglers are
hooking as many as 20 rainbows per day while
pulling small spoons. Mackinaw, browns, brookies
and kokanee are in the mix too.
4.
UMPQUA BASS… Anglers are landing more
than 50 smallmouth bass per day. Topwater
bugs and plugs work early and late, while streamers
and crankbaits work all day.
GOOD BETS…
5.
COLLINS LAKE CATS… Catfish are biting well
for anglers working the river arm. Best baits
include live minnows, liver, night crawlers, sardines
and mackerel.
IT ALL ADDS UP
6.
BIG SUR ROCKFISH… Long range rockfish
trips are yielding heavy limits of hardheads along
with some handsome bonus lingcod. Metal bar jigs
teamed with flies work well.
TO MORE FISH IN THE BOAT.
7.
BERRYESSA KOKANEE… Anglers are landing
kokanee that run 14 to 17 inches. Pink spinners,
hoochies and Apex Lures are all working in the main
body of the lake.
8.
LAKE DEL VALLE STRIPERS … Stripers are
cooperating with both trollers and bait anglers.
Trollers pull rigged anchovies and plugs while bait
anglers soak cut anchovies.
SLEEPERS…
9.
SHASTA ‘BOWS … The trout are locked into the
40 to 80 foot depth range. Put a shad imitating
lure into that depth range and you’ll hook up on ‘bows
to 21 inches.
10.
HALF MOON BOTTOMFISH… Anglers
working the bottom with shrimp flies and jigs
are landing limits of quality rockfish. Fair numbers of
lings are falling to jig anglers.
11.
DELTA STRIPERS… Patient trollers are still
hooking stripers that range up to 10 pounds.
Yo-Zuri shallow runners have been the ticket at the
top and bottom of the tide.

12.
NEW MELONES POTLUCK… Trollers are
catching kokanee that average 14 to 16
inches and there are some bonus rainbows in the mix
that range up to 4 pounds. Uncle Larry’s spinners and
hoochies tipped with corn are working.

14.
FEATHER RIVER KINGS… Salmon fishing
will start on July 16. Based on the number of
salmon that arrived this spring, the early action could
be great.

more sensitive, improved knot strength,
stronger, and unmatched abrasion resistance.
15.
P-LINE X-BRAID
ROGUE FALL RUN… The fall salmon run
generally produces big fish and epic fishing
on the Rogue. Things get going in late August and the
