SALTWATER REPORTS
Halibut, Stripers & Salmon
Dominate!
EAST BAY- Saltwater enthusiasts
are enjoying incredible fishing.
Salmon lead the angling parade at
this time with anglers bagging limits
and early limits of kings that range up
to 25 pounds.
Berkeley’s New Easy Rider with
Captains Joe and Joey Gallia running
the boat, have nailed big numbers of
salmon over the past two weeks and
the fish have been running large. The
average salmon goes 8 to 9 pounds
with the big fish going 20 plus. Rigged
bait teamed with small inline flashers
has been the winning combination.
If you want to put some salmon in
the freezer, now is the time to book a
trip on the New Easy Rider!
Captain Jonathan Smith of the
Happy Hooker has been putting his
clients on great live bait potluck
action both inside bay. On his most
recent adventure his anglers boated
full limits of stripers and more than a
halibut per rod to 21 pounds.
Captain Chris Smith of Pacific
Dream Sportfishing has also been
putting his anglers on epic live bait
action. On one typical trip last week
anglers scored 20 limits of bass to 10
pounds along with 25 halibut to 19
pounds.
On the Goldeneye 2000 Captain
Quang Vo has been putting his
clients on a pair of halibut per rod
and limits of stripers while fishing the
central bay.
Before long, Captain Quang will
shift over to lingcod action and will be
plying the waters of the Farallons and
beyond for lings and big rockfish.

as the salmon prefer temperatures
around 52 to 56 degrees. Right
now, we are averaging around a fish

the normal summer pattern, it will be
