HOT BITES...
1.
GOLDEN GATE HALIBUT
Drifting live anchovies or trolling frozen bait is
producing halibut that weigh more than 30 lbs. Small
tides are best, but larger tides produce fish too.
“When I am
fishing a frog or
flipping matted
vegetation, I
am throwing the
new X-TCB 8
Carrier Braided
Line form P-Line.
It is critical to
be stealthy with
both techniques,
and with P-line’s
new braid, you
can make longer
casts and it is
ultra quiet com-
ing through the
grass.”

2.
BULLARDS BAR KOKANEE
Limit style kokanee trolling has exploded at
Bullards. The salmon are running 10 to 12 inches and
can be caught on spinners or hoochies down to 60 feet
deep.
3.
LAKE PARDEE MIXED BAG
Both rainbow trout and kokanee are rewarding
trollers. Spinner hoochies, standard hoochies and
spinners in pink, orange and green work for both
species.
4.
FOLSOM LAKE BASS
Anglers are catching all three black bass species.
Plastic worms and Senkos worked around submerged
boulders and standing trees do the trick.

5.
SACRAMENTO RIVER ‘BOWS
Wild rainbows to 3 lbs are on a very consistent
bite. Fly guys score on rubber legs nymphs while
conventional anglers rely on plugs and egg imitations.
6.
BODEGA BOTTOMFISH
Very good rockfish and lingcod action is available
for Bodega anglers. Jigs, whole squid and shrimp fly rigs
are producing great results.
7.
TAHOE LAKERS
The mackinaw bite is going strong at the state’s
largest natural lake. Kok-A-Nuts and rigged minnows
trolled 100 to 200 feet deep draw quick results.
8.
EAGLE LAKE TROUT
Big rainbows to 4.4 lbs are being caught at Eagle
Lake. Biters are scattered so anglers are covering
ground in the South Basin with spoons, flies and grubs
to hook up

9.
HALF MOON KINGS
Salmon are on the prowl just north of Half Moon
Bay. To hook up pull rigged bait behind small red or
orange inline rotating flashers to 40 feet.
10.
AMADOR POTLUCK
It’s the trout bite with limits and near limits being
landed by trollers and bankies that make the headlines. Yet,
bass, catfish and panfish are on the chomp too!
11.
UMPQUA SPRINGERS
Springers are navigating their way up the
Umpqua and lucky anglers are scoring fish to 35 lbs.
Spinners teamed with rigged bait are the best offering.

13.
LAKE CHABOT CATS
With trout fishing destined to wind down, catfish
action should pick up with the next shot or two of hot
weather. Mackerel, liver and night crawlers are the best
baits for whiskerfish.
14.
AMERICAN RIVER STRIPERS
July is one of the best times to hook massive
trophy stripers in the American. Trout pattern swimbaits,
Pencil Poppers and live pike minnows are the best
offerings.
15.
FEATHER RIVER KINGS
Salmon fishing will start on July 16. Based on
the number of salmon that arrived this spring, the early
action could be great.

16.
MANZANITA LAKE TROUT
The second half of July typically marks the
beginning of consistent dry fly action. Small No. 16 and
