The Verdict Is In! Tasmanian Devils Catch Fish!

Tasmanian
Devil lures are
hard to categorize. They aren’t
really a plug and they certainly
aren’t a spoon either.
What is certain is that the
lures have a seductively erratic
action that mimics the move-
ments of a panicked baitfish
well. The lures aren’t painted.
Instead the color is locked be-
tween the layers of clear plastic
that make up the lure body. This
way the colors never get dull or
chipped.
The lures work great when
trolled and they are even deadli-
er when casted
twitches of the rod tip
causes the lure to dip, dive
and act generally wounded.
This is the kind of abrupt
movement that triggers
strikes from predatory
gamefish particularly fish
like trout and landlocked
salmon that prey of baitfish
such as shad and pond smelt.
Here’s What Anglers Have To Say…
“I recently bought this lure went
to go after Rainbows. There were
5 or 6 people fly fishing and a few
fishing with eggs on the bottom.
Everyone I talked to said nothing
was biting. I threw in Taz first cast
a 2lb Rainbow. Within 45 min I
had 5 Trout and was headed home.
Everyone looked in shock and

result. I troll at 1.3 mph. The lures
did the rest. I boated 19 rainbows
t the first day. The catch rate has
been beyond all my expectations.
I’ve boated browns, rainbows and
salmon. This lure works, and has
definitely become the first lure I tie
on in the morning,”-Jay F.
“A fellow trout fisherman intro-
duced me to the Tasmanian Devil
lure. They are Australia’s number
one selling freshwater lure. The
lure is very castable thanks to the
lead core. They are also very dura-
ble and the color does not wear off
since it is encapsulated in the plas-
tic body. The lure is also versatile
to rig since you can easily remove
the standard wire insert with treble
hook. An alternate rig I use is to
thread my line though the lure and
through a plastic bead, then tie on
a single hook. This allows me to
fish it in trout waters where trebles
are prohibited,”-Don S
