fantastic day in my book that you all know
that I keep,” she added.
Robbie Dunham reported solid trout
action also on his trolling adventure with
Diana Stockton.
“We had 20 grabs, with 5 coming off and
we released another 5 trout. We boated
our 10 fish limits at 30 to 45 feet deep at
Little Hat Island and the river Channel with
Speedy Shiners,” said Dunham.
Bass anglers are also reporting solid
fishing. John Loverin of Pro Cast Fishing
reported catching and releasing 10 bass in
the 2 to 4 lb. range on his latest trip to the
lake.
“All of the fish were largemouths except
one 4 lb. spotted bass,” he explained. “I
was targeting the bigger fish with Whopper
Poppers and wakebaits. If you want to
catch a bunch of bass in the 1 lb. range,
you can fish smaller baits for them. I fished
upriver past the island.”
The lake level is only 4 feet from full
right now. Voss expects the water level to
hold for the next few weeks.
“A couple of our guests reported good
fishing for rainbows and brookies on the
West Fork of the Carson River in the
Hope Valley area while fishing worms
and salmon eggs lately,” said Voss. “Fly
fishermen are also picking up trout.”
Fishing pressure has been very light
at Lower Bear River Reservoir lately.
Expect the rainbow, brown and mackinaw

weather.
