Bucks Trout Bite Good , Almanor Ramping Up …

CHESTER - “ I ’ m about done at Bucks Lake . The fishing is still good , but I think I only have two trips left up there before I head over to Almanor ,” related Bryan Roccucci of Big Daddy ’ s

Night Fishing For Largemouths Great

IONE – Night fishing for Lake Amador largemouth bass continues to be exellent for anglers , as evidenced by the latest trip to the reservoir by John Loverin of Procast Guide Service .

“ My friend Bill Cave and I caught and released between 12 and 15 largemouths , mostly while fishing purple and junebug colored plastic worms at 5 to 15 feet deep ,” said Loverin . “ Most of the fish were from 2 to 3 pounds each . We fished frm 5 pm until 10 pm . We hooked the biggest fish on a Whopper Popper . The fish were really healthy looking .”

“ There is some top water action for bass as they chase shad around the lake ,” said Sandy Lockhart of Lake Amador Resort .

‘ The water is still prestty warm , in the mid-seventies ” she said . “ We don ’ t plan to stock trout until the third or fourth week of October after the water temperature cools down more .”

“ Night fishing for catfish remains good ,” she noted . Gary
