COYOTE - Black bass anglers focus
their attention on deep water while crappie
fishing takes flight.
Bass anglers found action making use of
deep water crankbaits this week according
to Mickey Clements at Coyote Bait and
Tackle.
The fishing is in a transitional phase
right now. At Calero, they’re running deep
crankbaits 15 to 20 feet deep in open
water. In the morning they can catch a
couple using reaction and some topwater,”
Clements said.
“At Anderson, the fish are a little
shallower so they’re using squarebill
crankbaits. Topwater or reaction works in
the morning, and during the day its a lot of
finesse and drop shot. You can also try a
Keitech swimbait rigged on an underspin
jig,” he stated.
