East Cape Anglers Enjoy
Spring Tuna Bonanza!

an Wormer Resorts reports that anglers fishing off the East Cape
are enjoying some of the best spring tuna action in many years.
The water color is awesome, bait is abundance and the temperature
is right and it shows in the catches. Limits of funs size tuna in the 20
to 30 pound class are the rule. Bigger fish are around too, with the
occasional 60 pounder hitting the deck.
Full size sardines are present in great numbers and represent the
top bait. On days when the tuna are finicky dropping down to a 30
pound class outfit fitted with a fluorocarbon leader can make good
things happen.
If you visit the East Cape and get tired of battling tuna, the inshore
action has been great for anglers working both iron and live sardines.
You’ll catch an array of different bottomfish species while working
inshore this spring, but anglers are also encountering big amberjacks
and yellowtail. And of course, rooster fish are on the prowl so you’ll
want one rod rigged with a popper.

of JC Sportfishing in Cabo San Lucas
visiting anglers have a good deal of solid fishing
to choose from. If you want to take home some
meat, tuna have been plentiful. If a marlin is on
your bucket list, you’ve got a good chance at
hooking up.
“It has been a decent week for striped marlin
and basically all marlin species here in Los
Cabos,” said Chapman. “Most fish have been
caught on live bait, lures or slow trolling small
tuna. It has been an active and productive week
for marlin all week with good numbers of fish
being caught and released.”

being caught, up and around
the doughnut it has been
active using king busters and
cedar plugs with some of the
bigger fish being landed with
live bait. The big ones top
out at around 30 pounds,”
Chapman related.
“It has been very slow for dorado over this
past week with jus
