For bass, try throwing a jig, senko or drop shot rig on the main body points. You can also try yo-yoing a Lucky Craft LV 500. Crappie is doing good at Calero too. Its best from a boat because you can drift around with a mini crawler or a chartreuse crappie jig,” he added. “Anderson is a little slow since you can’t fish from a boat, but you can catch them using a drop shot rig. Crappie is going pretty good especially out by the dam,” he said. “Uvas and Chesbro are both good for crappie and catfish. Uvas is the better catfish lake, though. Try using (chicken) livers, mackerel or anchovies, or anything else that’s real oily,” Tang tipped. Rainbow trout are cruising around the mouth of the creek and a few are being caught by trollers pulling Needlefish and small Rapala minnows. Catfish are getting active and starting to show in the catches. Liver and worms are the top baits, but mackerel or even hotdog chunks will work. The best time for catfish is in the evening hours and after dark.
