Captain Tom Mattusch of the Huli Cat has scored limits of Dungeness crab on all trips since the opener, and he reported limits of crab, limits of rockfish, and 8 lingcod on his latest trip after scoring limits 31 of crab, a few rock crab, 8 lings, and near-limits of rockfish on the previous trip. trip. The Coastside Fishing Club sponsored a veterans crab-only trip on Saturday, November 10th, and we pulled up 10- crab limits for all of the veterans on the half-day trips and followed this up with another set of limits on the afternoon half-day trip.’ Further north in Pacifica, the pier has been packed with fishermen since the opener beginning at 4:00 a.m. on November 3rd, but the action has been limited to a few crab per rod at best. The latest trip by the Kahuna to Point Sur on November 10 produced 13 lingcod, 140 assorted rockfish and 50 vermilion rockfish for 20 anglers, reported Carol Jones of Kahuna Sportfishing. Tbe 20 anglers on the previous trip by the Kahuna landed 10 lingcod and 200 rockfish. On the previous day, the 22 anglers on the Check Mate bagged limits of lingcod (44) and limits of rockfish (220). “The weather was great again today and the fish are biting,” said Todd Fraser of Bayside Marine in Santa Cruz on November 11. “ There were some nice rockfish, lingcod and halibut caught from 4 Mile to Davenport.
