mode, but boaters fishing at Bullards Bar
are still catching their 10 fish limits of
kokanee.
“The fish are starting to turn,” reported
Craig Newton at Willfish Bait and Tackle.
“You can count on landing a limit of 12
inch fish now. A big fish at the lake is 14
inches long.”
“Boaters are trolling with hoochies,
tipped with white corn, behind dodgers
at 65 to 75 feet deep,” said Newton. “The
best hoochie colors are purple/green and
purple/chartreuse.”
Fishing pressure has been very light
at Englebright Reservoir lately. Rainbow
trout are available for anglers trolling
with nightcrawlers, spoons and spinners
behind dodgers or flasheris.
Bullards Bar is holding 792,532 acre feet
of water, 82 percent of capacity and 111
percent of average.
Englebright Reservoir is holding 65,178
acre feet of water, 93 percent of capacity
and 100 percent of average.

CAMANCHE LAKE
Trollers Pull Out Rainbows
Near Dam
BURSON – Experienced trollers are
landing good numbers of rainbow trout at
Lake Camanche.
Robbie Dunham of Koke Machine Guide
Service put Diana Stockton of Stockton
onto a limit to 4.2 pounds along with a
limit for himself while trolling with Speedy
Shiners from the main river channel
towards the dam.
“We had an awesome day catching trout
at Lake Camanche,” reported Stockton.
“The weather was perfect, with a little
breeze. We got our ten trout by 11am.
My first trout was a very beautiful 4.2 lb.
rainbow. I thank Robbie Dunham for a
great day of fishing.”
Dunham followed his up by taking his
brother-in-law and son-in-law the next day
for limits of rainbows to 5.7 pounds.
“We started right outside of the North
Shore Marina and started to troll down
towards the dam. Our first two fish were
bass that we released, and after this, we
started to pick up rainbows and scored
two limits by 1:30 p.m. with the two largest
at 4.3 and 5.7 pounds. Once again,
Speedy Shiners were the trick as deep as
70 feet.,” Dunham reported..
Black bass are also worth a shot. Josh
Maxwell reported catching and releasing
bass while fishing with purple 6” Robo
Worms 150 200 feet from the bank and a
float tube with a slow retrieve.
Lake Camanche’s water level has
dropped to 90% with an elevation of
229.91′ above sea level. The lake is
receiving 839 cubic feet per second of
water from Pardee while releasing 850 cfs
into the Mokelumne River below the dam.
Surface water temperatures are still warm
reading 75° – 77°.
