Fishing Season Will Close on November 1

IONE – The end of the fishing season at Lake Pardee is coming fast . Sunday , November 1st is the final day of the season .

As water temperatures cooled down , weekly plants of trout resumed at Pardee , with 1000 pounds of Mt . Lassen rainbow trout going in during the latest plant .

Both shore anglers and boaters have been catching trout .. Robbie Dunham of Koke Machine Guide Service reported three limits of rainbows on his most recent trolling adventure . The fish fell for Speedy Shiners in the main lake .

Starting Monday Oct . 5th the new Marina hours will be 7 am to 5 pm . Pardee recreation gates open at 5 a . m .

25 miles from downtown Sacramento . Fishermen going to the lake at this time are targeting warm water species including largemouth bass , redear sunfish , bluegill , crappie and channel catfish . Rainbow trout are planted in the winter and spring .

Permitted activities include hiking . fishing , kayaking / boating ( Boat rentals are available ), a dog park and picnicking ( BBQ ). swimming ( restricted to 250 in the water at once ), and tent camping . RV sites are active with reservations .

Scores Inch Up As More Salmon Arrive

REDDING- There are solid numbers of salmon in the Sacramento River and more fish are moving up the system every day . It looks like the second half of October is going to offer very good salmon fishing opportunities for Sac River anglers .

Anglers fishing with Mike Bogue of Mike Bogue ’ s Guide Service have been scoring near limits of quality kinds to 25 pounds while fishing the Sacramento . Mike runs Flatfish early and then switches over to Pautzke cured roe as the morning goes on .
