9.21 lb . Rainbow and 2.8 lb . Bass Top Fish Fest Catches
BURSON – A 9.21-pound rainbow trout and 2.8 lb . bass topped the catches in the Lake Camanche Fish Fest during the month of December . “ We had over 30 entries over the month and the competition was close ,” the Lake Camanche Recreation Company reported . Edgar Duhaylungsod of Stockton won the trout division with a 9.21 lb . rainbow . Ivan Yang caught the second biggest trout , a 9 lb . rainbow . Matt Brown led the black bass division with a 2.8 lb . black bass . FishFest was a competition for the heaviest fish caught between two categories , trout , and bass . Weekly trout plants from Mount Lassen Hatchery continue to go into Lake Camanche . During the latest plant , A total of 3300 pounds of rainbow trout went into the lake , including 900 pounds into the Trout Pond and 2400 pounds at the North Shore Ramp . Robbie Dunham of Koke Machine Guide Service is finding excellent fishing while trolling at Lake Camanche . His latest two trolling adventures each produced limits of quality rainbows . Jack Naves and Dunham teamed up to troll on December 30 , catching 10 rainbows by 2:30 p . m . Lake Camanche is holding 191,270-acre feet of water , 46 percent of capacity and 77 percent of average . The lake level is 199.62 feet in elevation .

Lake Level Rises After Recent Storms
OREGON HOUSE – The good news from Collins Lake is that the water level is only 23 feet from full , due to the big storms of December . The bad news is that the fishing is very slow due to the cold , stained water conditions , reported Ed Palma of the Collins Lake Recreation Area . The water temperature now is only 46 degrees , giving the rainbow trout and other fish a case of “ lockjaw .” “ We are hopeful that the rains continue and we see a full lake this year ,” said Palma .
