The Checkmate out of Chris ’ Fishing Trips in Monterey reported a great day of salmon mooching on June 1 , when the 7 anglers landed limits of salmon and the crew caught 4 kings , a total of 18 fish . On June 3 , the Checkmate had another good day when the 14 anglers bagged 14 salmon while mooching anchovies inside Monterey Bay . However , the salmon action slowed down on June 4 when the

16 anglers aboard the Checkmate checked in with 1 king . The rockfish action remains excellent . The 34 anglers aboard the Star of Monterey bagged limits of rockfish ( 340 ) and 12 lingcod on Saturday , June 4 . The 15 fishermen aboard the Caroline landed limits of rockfish ( 160 ) and 4 lingcod on the same day .

Troy Maggy , manager at Fisherman ’ s Warehouse , caught this monster yellowtail on a recent trip to the Channel Islands . Troy caught this fish on live squid but an array of lures have been productive for both white seabass and yellowtail as of late .

Captain Steve Mitchell recently introduced his second boat , Malia Kai , to the SF Bay . Since it has been on the water it has been produced nice counts of quality halibut .
