The Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival for 2022 will be held on October 7 , 8 and 9 , 2022 . First , there is the fishing derby , which begins at 6:00 am on Friday , October 7 and concludes at 3:00 pm on Sunday , October 9 . Striped Bass , Sturgeon , and Salmon are presented to the volunteers from the California Striped Bass Association , Isleton Chapter , at the foot of Main St . for weighing and measuring . The first three places of each category with winning fish win cash prizes with the top prize being $ 3000 for a 1st Place Striper . Tickets for the fishing derby will be advertised in the Rio Vista Beacon and available on Facebook as well as the festival website ( www . bassfestival . com ) and at local bait shops .. The tickets will also be on sale at the Rio Vista Visitor Center / Chamber of Commerce office at 33 N . 2nd St . and will also be available on the website . The festival takes place on Front St . and Main St . and entrance is free . At Front and Sacramento Streets , you will find the Beer Garden , which has ice cold beer and wine ( and the tip jar is donated to a local non-profit ). They will be serving Budweiser , Bud Light , and 2-3 specialty beers . Nearby is the margarita booth serving several flavors of margaritas . Also located in the Beer Garden will be the Starlight Stage where 10 bands will entertain attended over the 3-day festival . On stage Friday night , beginning at 4:00 pm , will be Network , Groovy Judy , and Livin ’ Daylites . Saturday bands , beginning at 11:30 am , include River Ratz , Derek Abel Band , Strange Brew , and Briefcase Blues Brothers . Performing on Sunday beginning at 11:30 am will be Michelle Lambert , Afterglow , and Angela Street . There will be plenty of room to dance right in front of the stage and many tables and chairs if you would like to enjoy some lunch , dinner or snacks while listening to the great music . During band breaks and the changing of bands there will be opportunities to step on stage and sing some karaoke . Vista Fire Dept Hot Shots will be serving a pancake breakfast at the RV Fire Station starting at 7:00 am . Also , on Saturday , the Rio Vista Lions Club will host a car show on Main St . and at 8:45 pm there will be fireworks over the river sponsored by Mt . Diablo Resource Recovery . On Sunday , October 9 , enjoy the fun of a real hometown parade which starts near Lira ’ s parking lot and marches down Main St . to 2nd St .
