still biting .” The anglers both trolled deep and shallow running Yo-Zuri lures in chartreuse and red / white , tipped with Trick Worms . “ We marked quite a few schools of fish ,” he added . “ The fish were biting on the top of the tide and the first push of the outgoing tide . If the stripers stay in the Delta this summer , I plan to fish for them through November .”

The male striped bass are squirting out milt as they get ready to spawn , while about many of the females have green eggs .. “ In lower water years the stripers often spawn in the Delta ,” he stated “ Now with so much water in the rivers , many of the fish should go up the rivers to spawn .” Sturgeon are still biting in the lower Delta , although the bite can be tough some days . On a recent trip , two anglers from Las Vegas fished New York Slough and Broad Slough with Hammond , catching one slot-sized sturgeon . “ There was lots of junk in the water .
