The lake level is 460 feet in elevation , 66 feet from full . Inflow into the lake is 8,179 cuffs and outflow is 7,871 cfs . Granite Bay , Folsom Point , Rattlesnake Bar and the main ramp at Brown ’ s Ravine are in operation , according to the Folsom Lake Marina . There is a large amount of debris over the entire lake and boaters need to use caution while boating .

LOS VAQUEROS RESERVOIR

17 Lb . Striper Leads Early Summer Catches

LIVERMORE – While most of the keeper striped bass being caught at Los Vaqueros Reservoir now are in the 18 to 22 inch range , there are much larger fish out there to be caught . For example , one angler , Quinvstd , topped recent catches at Los Vaqueros by catching a 17 lb . striper . He was fishing in the South Cove when the hefty fish hit . Anglers interested in catching stripers should us anchovies in the South Cove or off Pier 1 near the Los Vaqueros Marina . Trout pattern top water lures and swimbaits can also be effective when targeting the stripers . The latest trout plant of 2,000 pounds of rainbows from Mt . Lassen went into the reservoir on May 25 . Kent Hintzman at the Los Vaqueros Marinas said fish plants will switch over to channel catfish as the water temperature rises . The surface water temperature has risen to 65 degrees and Los Vaqueros is holding 120,000 acre feet of water . Trout anglers are also finding success at the reservoir . “ Most of the fish have been caught on PowerBait and nightcrawlers from shore because there has been limited boat access due to the wind ,. Most anglers are fishing from the South Cove to the Rockwall . The trout average 1-1 / 2 to 2 pounds each , with some in the 3 to 5 lb . range showing .” The lake management is now weeding and mowing to provide more shore access . The South Cove is open to fishing access . Anglers should be on the alert for rattlesnakes . The watershed continues to experience morning and late afternoon winds consistently . If you are interested in renting a boat , it ’ s recommended to call ahead to check current wind conditions . Remember – rental boats are first come , first served .
