Black Bass , Trout Provide Top Summer Action

SACRAMENTO – Anglers are finding fair black bass action at Folsom Lake while using an array of techniques . Don Paganelli of Paganelli ’ s Bass Fishing Experience reported that he helped out with a kids camp sponsored by a church by taking three young people fishing . On the first day , 13 children fished with 6 bass boats . On the second day , 14 children fished aboard 6 bass boats and one trout boat . “ The three boys fishing with me on the first day caught and released a total of 11 bass ,” stated Paganelli . “ Two of the kids each caught four bass and the other landed three bass . The biggest fish were a 3 pound spotted bass and 3-1 / 2

Currently all five lunching ramps on Folsom Lake are usable , but are very busy on weekends , according to the Folsom Lake Marina : “ High water is great , but it also means that many parking spaces are now under water and the park can close early due to no parking . You should expect large crowds and lines to both launch and retrieve your boat . Come as early as possible and enjoy a full Folsom Lake .”

Bank Anglers Bag Striper Limits

LIVERMORE – Striped bass continue to dominate the fishing scene at Los Vaqueros Reservoir , with a number of limits of fish weighed in lately by shore anglers . Fishermen are hooking the stripers while using anchovies and chicken livers in the South Cove and off the fishing pier . “ The fish brought in lately have ranged from 18 inches to 10 pounds , “ reported Carlos Robles at the Los Vaqueros Marina . Big striper honors go to Jose and Rene , who caught two stripers weighing 10.47 and 10.91 pounds while soaking anchovies in the South Cove . However , the biggest fish brought in lately was a 19 lb . catfish that Saul Aboyles caught on an anchovy in the South Cove . Catfish plants are expected to begin by the end of July . The last plant of 2,000 pounds of Mt . Lassen rainbows went into the reservoir
