California Dawn produced a mixture of reds , blues , blacks , lingcod , cabezon and halibut . The final count was 25 limits of rockfish ( 250 ), 27 limits of lingcod to 20 pounds , 21 halibut to 21 pounds and 2 cabezon .

San Mateo Coast Kicks Out Rockfish Limits , Lingcod

EL GRANADA – The rockfish action has been great in shallow water off the San Mateo Coast since fishing for groundfish in the San Francisco Management Area between 38 ° 57.5 ’ N . latitude ( Point Arena ) and 37 ° 11 ’ N . latitude ( Pigeon Point ) opened to all depths from July 16 to December 31 . The 6 anglers aboard the latest rockfish trip on the Queen of Hearts on July 21 bagged 60 rockfish ( full limits ) and 5 lingcod , reported Captain Wallace Klughers . The 18 anglers aboard the boat on July 20 caught 180 rockfish , 6 lingcod and 1 rock sole . The 6 anglers aboard the Queen of Hearts on July 18 landed 60 rockfish , one lingcod and one halibut . The 5 passengers aboard the boat on July 17 returned with 50 rockfish and 3 lingcod . “ Rockfishing has been excellent so far this season with limits of really nice fish available for anybody at the rail with a rod in hand who does what the captain says ,” reported Sherri Ingles at the Half Moon Bay Sportfishing Center . “ There ’ s been a few lingcod as well .” Captain Mike Cabanas is booking both live bait trips on San Francisco Bay and rockfish trips out of Half
