Virginia Salvador of Vacaville took a well-deserved break from her full time job as a laboratory scientist and weekend occupation as a charter boat captain with Gatecrasher Fishing Adventures on San Francisco Bay out of Fisherman ’ s Wharf to pursue the peacock bass in Florida . She was attending the ICAST sportfishing trade show in Orlando from July 10 to July 14 when she fished with Captain Bill Lepree of South Florida Bass Charters for the introduced tropical fish species in Lake Worth , Florida . “ It was an epic half day trip ,” said Salvador . “ My friend , Kanani Wong , and I caught and released 20 plus peacock bass to 5 pounds .” In this photo , Salvador shows off a peacock bass that she had just caught as Wong tries to hook another fish .
