Bullards Bar is holding 736,528 acre-feet of water , 76 percent of capacity and 111 percent of average . Few anglers are fishing at Englebright Reservoir for trout . Anglers should troll with Rapalas , Needlefish , Cripplures and nightcrawlers behind dodgers for the scrappy rainbows . No small ones . Englebright is holding 64,532 acre feet of water , 92 percent of capacity and 98 percent of average .

Troll Deep Structure for Limits of Rainbows

BURSON - Few anglers have been fishing Lake Camanche lately , but the ones getting out are catching rainbow trout while trolling deep . Nate Kelsch of Big Nate ’ s Guide Service reported top-notch fishing on his most recent trip to Camanche with early limits of trout for 2 anglers . “ This morning I had the father / son duo of Travis and Russell out on Camanche for another red hot bite ,” reported Kelsch after his latest trolling adventure . “ These 2 managed to land their limits of rainbows by 8:30 a . m . with some very nice fish in the mix , and off the water in time for breakfast .”

“ I decided last night to fish a pattern that works for me when water gets warm and fish drop deep in the water column and it paid off . The key is finding deep structure that is holding fish . Power trolling spoons at 45 to 65 ft . proved to be deadly , as the fish were in full on ambush mode ,” he advised . “ If you ’ re looking to learn , or just have a good time and load up on some great tablefare , now ’ s the time to book . Lake Camanche is holding 364,616 acre feet of water , 82 percent of capacity and 136 percent of average .
