EAST BAY LAKES
weeds as well , but there is generally good water off the docks , the rocks , and the points on either side of Quail Cove . Anthony Flores posted two nice bass that were taken on Feb . 18 and 19 . Lake Del Valle received 750 pounds of Mt . Lassens on Feb . 21 . The lake level is back up to near-full . The beach along the narrows is now gone and water quality has been poor . Despite the heavy plants action may be slow due to water quality . I ’ d recommend calling the marina store before you plan a trip . Lake Chabot trout action has been mixed between very good on plant days or shortly after to slow in the days that follow . The water is very high , access is limited but the water quality is fair to good and will settle even more with the stable weather . Bait will probably be the best bet . Access will be limited based on the high water . Sergio took an 8-pound trout fishing a tube jig down from shore almost to the dam . Lake Temescal action has been mixed and varies significantly with water quality .

FEATHER RIVER
Main Spillway Releases Resume , 1,548 Steelhead Counted To Date
OROVILLE - Upstream migrating fish totals between Sept . 11 , 2023 and Feb . 10 , 2024 are : 31,137 Chinook salmon : 31,137 and 1,548 steelhead .
The Department of Water Resources ( DWR ) increased water releases from Lake Oroville in advance of a series of storms . Water releases from Oroville Dam ’ s main spillway also resumed around 10 a . m . today with continuing releases through the Hyatt Powerplant . During the winter months , releases from Lake Oroville provide flood protection to downstream communities by maintaining storage capacity in the reservoir for additional rain capture . DWR coordinates releases closely with the U . S . Army Corps of Engineers and other water operators and adjusts releases as needed to account for continuing runoff . Total releases to the Feather River amount to 8,000 cfs with 650 cfs being routed down the low-flow channel through the City of Oroville . An additional 7,350 cfs is being released from
the Thermalito Afterbay River Outlet , located 5 miles downstream from Oroville . Feather River releases may increase again in the future to account for high inflows . Feather River recreation users are advised to remain alert as river flows are expected to be swift and cold and may change based on projected weather forecasts . Crews may also be seen working near the main spillway for several weeks . Sections of the spillway ’ s underdrain system are being re-inspected to capture additional video footage . In addition , crews will be performing maintenance and repairs to the spillway ’ s lighting system . DWR , the California Conservation Corps ( CCC ), and the Department of Fish and Wildlife ( CDFW ) finished constructing fish habitat structures at Lake Oroville and the Thermalito Afterbay using just over 1,000 recycled Christmas trees . The trees were again collected by Chico Boy Scout Troop 2 and delivered free of charge to the Oroville facilities by Recology , a local waste management company .

FOLSOM LAKE
Kings , Rainbows and Bass Are Hitting
FOLSOM - Folsom Lake is producing a mixture of king salmon and rainbow trout . Trollers are hooking the majority of the fish , but shore anglers can also hook both species while tossing out minnows , inflated nightcrawlers and PowerBait at Granite Bay , Brown ’ s Ravine and other areas on the lake . The lake water level is rising at this time . “ On my latest trip with two anglers , we caught seven trout and 6 kings ,” said Cal Kellogg of fishhuntshoot . com . “ The tout ranged up to 14 inches and salmon went from 15 to 17 inches . I think there are bigger fish around .” “ All of the trout hit pink Trix worms in the top five feet of the water ,” he noted . “ The Salmon hit 6 inch Fisheye Dodgers trailed by white shad tubes . The kings were scattered 15 to 30 feet deep .” “ The biggest salmon were holding on structure ,” said Kellogg . “ We trolled off both sides of the peninsula to the main body . The best action is in the afternoon on calm days .”. Kevin Fogal reported hooking some big kings on his most recent trolling expedition to Folsom

Lake . “ I had a pretty solid day at the backyard pond today ,” Fogel explained . “ The bites were few and far between , but I did have a double out by the old Christmas tree . I got one king and lost one , but the one I lost was a really nice one . I guarantee it was over 8 pounds or better . The one I landed was probably 4 or 5 pounds .” “ I rolled anchovies in the middle and my Bio Bait Gitzit and my pink and white Hoochie on the bottom . I told Jamie Triest if I fished Friday I was going to target all the deeper marks I ’ ve been seeing the last week or two at Folsom so I went with that game plan ,” he explained .
