The latest plant of Mt . Lassen trout at Camanche featured 1,000 lbs . of rainbows at the South Shore Ramp , 1,000 lbs . of rainbows at the North Shore Ramp , 500 lbs . of Lightnings at the South Shore Pond and 500 lbs . of rainbows at the South Shore Pond . Big trout honors go to Franklin , who pulled a 7.6 lb . rainbow out of the main lake while fishing from shore . There are some big crappie showing now at Camanche . Just ask Cha Vang , who caught 3.14 lb . crappie off of the main lake . Camanche is holding 323,644 acre feet of water , 78 percent of capacity and 128 percent of average .

Trout Hit Baits on Full Lake

OREGON HOUSE - Collins Lake is in great shape for fishing and boating this year . The lake level is only 1 foot from full , the surface temperature is 50.6 ° F and the water clarity is stained , with 4 ′ of visibility . Shore anglers fishing in February caught a good number of quality trout while employing an array of fishing methods . Alex Ramirez of Oroville caught a 5-1 / 4 lb . trout while using worms by the bridge , reported Sheri McCutcheon of the Collins Lake Resort . Derby Yields Quality Trout

PORTOLA – The “ Maybe Ice Derby ” became an “ Open Water Derby at Lake Davis on Feb . 16 . Seth Greenwood won first place with a 3 lb . 10 oz trout measuring 20 inches long ( 58 points .) Nicl Valine placed second with a 3 lb . 10 oz . trout measuring 19 inches . ( 57 points ). Trout Action Still Going Strong

OAKLAND- - Trout action is still going strong with some decent action between the storms . Action can be mixed though , and I must believe that the changing water levels , temps and rain have an effect . Shadow Cliffs received 1000 pounds on Feb . 21 ha and should be solid in coming days . Action has been mixed with ups and downs but has been consistent overall . Fishing bait deep has been the top producer . Andre Mull took a 7.5 lb . rainbow on Feb . 16 and a couple three pounders on Feb . 17 . James Fitzsimmons posted what appeared to be a 7 pounder . Peter Tookan landed an 8 lb . rainbow from shore near the ramp on Feb . 21 . The water is now up to the benches , but the weeds are down allowing more access to some of the tighter spots . Water quality is very good at Shadow Cliffs . Quarry Lakes received a CDFW plant on Feb . 21 and was scheduled for a Mt . Lassen plant as well . There were plenty of nice fish , but the larger Lassen were hard to find . The lake has been relatively consistent , and Andre Mull posted a nice limit on Feb . 20 . Conditions should be fair with some stain but the lake generally fishes well even after rain . Shinn Pond bass action was pretty good . Contra Loma Reservoir received 750 pounds of Mt .
