mackinaw that orange salmon color meat . We have been trolling spoons anywhere from a 100 ’ to about 220 ’. After Labor Day , the boat traffic will decrease tremendously allowing us to have certain parts of the lake to ourselves . The kokanee bite in south shore still remains strong , and we have seen some big kokanee being caught this year . Now is a great time to get out and fish with the bite being pretty hot all around the lake .

Summer Run Fish Offering Anglers Good Action

Redding , CA - Reports continue of good fishing happening on the Trinity above the Cedar Flat bridge up through Lewiston . Pay attention to the water temps if you are heading below Junction City as the daily temps right above the North Fork confluence eclipse 65 F daily . Now would be a good time to swing a skater . These are summer run fish , so they will eat most of what you serve up to them , Duracells , Rubberlegs , Olive Hotspots and Bird ’ s Nests will all work . TRUCKEE / LITTLE TRUCKEE RIVERS

Fall is right around the corner , and we are just a few short weeks away from some of the best fishing of the year . We are really looking forward to this fall as we are seeing our reservoirs remain full with great flows on most of our rivers . Now we are just waiting for the water to cool off a few more degrees and we should really see the bite kick into gear . This should happen shortly , and while the cold snap last week certainly helped , we are still seeing sections of the river exceed 68 degrees as of today . While we are on the tail end of the hoot owl voluntary closures , we still encourage you to carry a thermometer with you in the coming weeks . Last fall was absolutely epic and based on the traffic in the shop and on the river , we don ’ t feel like enough people capitalized on the amazing conditions from the huge winter in the year prior . We hope to see you all out there this fall as we expect it to be another great one . Fall is widely considered by those in the know to be the best time of year to find those trophy fish that the Truckee area is known for .
