Albacore Bite Overshadows Fantastic Halibut and Striped Bass Bite

BERKELEY – Albacore hare being caught as close as 20-25 miles out of San Francisco . Anglers are catching them trolling as well as using live anchovies . Most boats are trolling and once they find the school of albacore they toss out live bait or even dead bait on the slide . At times , the bite can be phenomenal with some fish tipping the scales at 20-25lbs . Charter boats are taking reservations for a

limited trips so you may want to book a trip soon if you would like to get on this fantastic albacore bite . The bite for halibut and striped bass has been phenomenal all summer long and remains solid for anglers drifting live anchovies . Big numbers of striped bass are being caught by anglers using spoons and swimbaits as well . The key is to find the bird activity because that is where you will find stripers feed on the schools of anchovies .
