“When I am
fishing a frog or
flipping matted
vegetation, I
am throwing the
new X-TCB 8
Carrier Braided
Line form P-Line.
It is critical to
be stealthy with
both techniques,
and with P-line’s
new braid, you
can make longer
casts and it is
ultra quiet com-
ing through the
grass.”

HOT BITES...
1.
SAN PABLO RAINBOWS… Big ‘bows are on
tap at San Pablo. Bankers are using PowerBait
while trollers work with worms and minnow plugs.
2.
CAMANCHE TROUT… Rainbow trout to 5 lbs
are on a solid bite for trollers. Grubs, hoochies
and small Rapalas are the best lures.
3.
SHASTA TROPHY BASS… Spotted bass to
8 lbs and largemouths to 13 have been landed
recently. To hook up work the lake arms with trout
imitating swimbaits.
4.
PACIFICA PERCH… Beach anglers are
hooking surfperch. Bait in the form of pile
worms and bloodworms have been outperforming
grubs.
GOOD BETS…
5.
DEL VALLE ‘BOWS… Shore anglers are
loading up on rainbows while fishing near the
boat ramps. PowerBait and Power Eggs have been
the top offerings.
IT ALL ADDS UP
6.
BODEGA CRAB… Crabs are still on the crawl
and private boaters are catching them. For the
best results try an overnight soak in 40 to 100 feet
of water.
TO MORE FISH IN THE BOAT.
7.
BULLARDS BAR SPOTS… Winter bassers
are nailing spots to 5.5 lbs. Dead sticking soft
plastics like Senkos produces the most action, but
swimbaits and jigs hook the larger bass.
8.
BAUM LAKE ‘BOWS… Bait anglers are
hooking limits and near limits of rainbows to 3
lbs. Night crawlers, crickets and salmon eggs are
the top baits.
SLEEPERS…
9.
PYRAMID CUTTHROATS… Fly anglers are
hooking trout up to and beyond the 15 lb. mark.
Purple and olive Woolly Buggers are scoring well,
as are beetle imitations.
10.
SOUTH BAY STURGEON…
Diamondbacks are cruising the South Bay
and anglers are hooking keepers. Mud shrimp,
ghost shrimp and herring are the top baits.
11.
CLEAR LAKE BASS… Big bass to 8 lbs.
are being caught by anglers fishing with
shiners. To hook up drift the deepest areas of the
lake.

DELTA CATS … The recent influx of run
off has sparked the catfish bite. Duck guts,
mackerel, night crawlers and liver will all draw
strikes.
COMING SOON...
13.
LAKE PARDEE NTAC... The Northern
California Trout Angler’s Challenge tour will
visit San Pablo Reservoir on March 2.
P-LINE TACTICAL FLUOROCARBON 14.
P-LINE X-BRAID 15.
EAST DELTA MONSTER BASS… March
is the month for hunting trophy largemouths
in the East Delta. Large subsurface swimbaits,
wake baits and patience make memories.
Show up prepared for the battle: smoother,
more sensitive, improved knot strength,
stronger, and unmatched abrasion resistance.
COLUSA STRIPERS… With a good
amount of rain and snow falling this winter,
epic spring striper action should be on tap this April.
Delivers superior abrasion resistance,
longer casts, vibration reduction and a near
zero stretch factor for unparalleled power.
16.
SIERRA TROUT OPENER… Stream
fishing is slated to open on April 27. Salmon
eggs, worms and spinners typically work well on the
opening weekend.
