Most anglers have focused on salmon
fishing in the river, so hardly anybody
has been targeting the landlocked kings
on Lake Oroville. Anglers should troll
shad or hoochies, tipped with anchovy
strips, in the Bidwell Canyon area near
the rockwall and the green bridge.
The water level at Lake Oroville
continues to drop. The water level has
dropped to 707.38 feet above sea level.
Oroville is holding 1,311,823 acre feet
of water, 37 percent of capacity and 60
percent of average.

Trout Action Heats Up as

IONE – You don’t have much time
left to fish Pardee this year, since the
park will close to fishing on November
4, 2018.
The lake management planted
another 1,000 lbs. of rainbow trout
ranging from 1-5 lbs. each on
September 27. That is the final trout

In addition, 1,000 lbs. of catfish
ranging from 2-6 lbs. each were stocked
on September 27.
Robbie Dunham of Koke Machine
Guide Service reported “crazy off the
hook trout fishing” on a recent trolling
adventure at Pardee. “Leslie, Shawn

PLEASANTON – The park district
stocked 1200 pounds of trout in
Horseshoe Lake the week of October
1 and another 1000 pounds in the lake
the week of October 15, kicking off the
fall/winter trout fishing season at the
Quarry Lakes Recreation Area.
The trout fishing will pick up as the
water continues to cool and more plants
go into the lake. Anglers can battle
the trout while throwing PowerBait,
worms and Kastmasters from shore
and while trolling spoons, spinners and
nightcrawlers from boats.
“We only had one report come to
the kiosk, but this time it was of a
bass,” said Joe Sullivan of the East
Bay Regional Park District. “Anthony
Costello of Fremont reported that he
caught and released a three and a
quarter pound largemouth bass on a
Senko and a two-pound largemouth

backside of Horseshoe Lake from his
kayak.”
