What We’re Using
Paul Kneeland - fished
Whiskeytown
Reservoir
with Bridget Looney in the
Fish Sniffer 21’ Rogue Jet
Coastal. They caught ko-
kanee to 14 1/2 inches,
and rainbow trout to 15 inches, using
an 8’ Phenix Reaper composite trigger-
stick kokanee rod with a Team Daiwa
Z ultra light reel loaded with 6 pound
Berkely Vanish fluorocarbon line. They
trolled pink Paulina Peak spinner
hoochies and copper pink Uncle Lar-
ry’s spinners tipped with corn behind
Paulina Peak and Arrowflash dodgers
in gold/pink right on the surface at 1.4
mph.
Dan Bacher - fished for crap-
pie at New Melones Lake.
Bacher used a Berkley Ugly
Stick GX2 6’ 6” medium ac-
tion spinning rod, teamed
up with a Shakespeare GX235 spinning
reel filled with 6 lb . test P-Line CX Premi-
um Flourocarbon Coated Line. He tossed
out a 1/16 oz. white Mini-Jig and a 1/32 oz
Berkley PowerBait Atomic Tube in a grass-
hopper pattern in the coves around sunken
trees and brush.
Cal Kellogg - fished Fol-
som Lake for spotted bass.
For tossing 4 inch Senkos
and 6 inch Robo Worms
Cal chose a Cousins GDS
701 spinning rod. The rod
was balanced with a Abu Garcia Car-
dinal SX 30 spinning reel spooled with
8 pound Vanish fluorocarbon line. The
baits were rigged on Eagle Claw Laser
Sharp hooks.
