OROVILLE - Anglers fishing the Feather River are hammering easy limits of monster kings that range up to 40 plus pounds! Both shore anglers and boaters are enjoying epic success. “I’ve been running two trips per day with limits both early and late,” exclaimed Robert Weese of Northern California Guide Service. “The fish are averaging from 12 to 35 pounds right now.” When asked if he was pulling plugs, Weese replied, “I could get them on plugs, but I’d have to fish the Thermalito Afterbay outlet to do it. It’s been pretty crowded in there, so I’ve been opting to fish other areas with roe right out of the gate. The fish are here and we are having zero problem hooking them.” Rob Reimers of Rustic Rob’s Guide Service reported excellent fishing on the Feather River. “We caught three nice limits of fish today,” said Reimers on his Facebook page. “Even the captain got to catch his limit.” On the following day, Reimers also reported limits of salmon for two anglers. The anglers hooked the fish while using Brad’s Killer Fish. Robbie Palma of the Collins Lake Resort caught a limit of big king salmon on a recent trip with Reimers. “I’ve been getting fish on every trip with spinners at the outlet,” Rod Temple a Fish Sniffer reader from Yuba City recounted. “I’ve gotten hit on both Mepps Flying C’s and Blue Fox spinners. I had a Blue Fox get crushed yesterday, but somehow I missed the fish. It felt huge,” exclaimed Temple. Temple went on to say that his biggest king of the season so far was 37 inches long and weighed 27 pounds.
