ringing. The Humphrey’s Pier in Antioch has
been outstanding for salmon for the past
several days with a high of 28 fish taken on
Flying C spinners on Saturday and at least
20 fish per day since mid-week,” he tipped.
Clyde Wands, shallow trolling expert,
stayed on the San Joaquin one day in
response to high winds on the Sacramento
River, and he said, “We did land a couple
of 6 pounders for the table along with an
8.5-pound striper released. The fish are
there, but you have to look for them. There
aren’t the large schools that there were a
few weeks ago. The tides weren’t great for
trolling, but we did manage legal stripers
with no shakers throughout the day.”
H and R Bait in Stockton reported that
more and more legal stripers are taken off
of the shorelines at Eight Mile Road and
Whiskey Slough, with some decent action
for linesides to 24 inches in the main San
Joaquin River at the Dos Rios launch ramp
in Lathrop.

FEATHER RIVER
Hammer Time On The Feather!
OROVILLE - Anglers fishing the Feather
River are hammering easy limits of monster
kings that range up to 40 plus pounds! Both
shore anglers and boaters are enjoying
epic success.
“I’ve been running two trips per day
with limits both early and late,” exclaimed
Robert Weese of Northern California Guide
Service. “The fish are averaging from 12 to
35 pounds right now.”
When asked if he was pulling plugs,
Weese replied, “I could get them on plugs,
but I’d have to fish the Thermalito Afterbay
outlet to do it. It’s been pretty crowded
in there, so I’ve been opting to fish other
areas with roe right out of the gate. The fish
are here and we are having zero problem
hooking them.”
Rob Reimers of Rustic Rob’s Guide
Service reported excellent fishing on the
Feather River. “We caught three nice
limits of fish today,” said Reimers on his
Facebook page. “Even the captain got to
catch his limit.”
On the following day, Reimers also
reported limits of salmon for two anglers.
The anglers hooked the fish while using
Brad’s Killer Fish.
Robbie Palma of the Collins Lake Resort
caught a limit of big king salmon on a
recent trip with Reimers.
“I’ve been getting fish on every trip with
spinners at the outlet,” Rod Temple a Fish
Sniffer reader from Yuba City recounted.
“I’ve gotten hit on both Mepps Flying C’s
and Blue Fox spinners. I had a Blue Fox get
crushed yesterday, but somehow I missed
the fish. It felt huge,” exclaimed Temple.
Temple went on to say that his biggest
king of the season so far was 37 inches
long and weighed 27 pounds.

When the lake turns
