CLEAR LAKE
Big Largemouths Are Hitting
CLEARLAKE – Largemouth bass are on
a solid bite now throughout Clear Lake, with
most of the fish going 2-1/2 to 3 pounds.
“You can find bass that are spawning,
are done spawning or are just getting on
the beds,” said Dave Burruss of Clear
Lake Outdoors. “The fish on the north end,
where the water is shallower, have already
spawned. The fish in the south end, where
the water is deeper, are spawning or getting
ready to spawn.”
“Anglers are using a variety of baits,
including creature baits, Underspins and
5 inch Senkos,” said Burruss. “I caught
and released two 5 lb. bass while using
Underspins and Baby Brush Hogs in the
lake’s south end, along with releasing a
bunch of other fish. I foud the best action in
12 feet of water.”
