Nov 8 - 22, 2019, 2019 SALTWATER REPORTS: CONTINUED FROM PG 25 MONTEREY BAY Anglers Battle Point Sur Rockfish and Lingcod MOSS LANDING – Rockfish action continues to be excellent along the Monterey County coast, with trips to Big Sur producing a mixture of quality rockfish and a few lingcod. The latest trip aboard the Kahuna yielded 210 rockfish for 24 anglers, A previous trip to Point Sur produced 130 rockfish and 5 lingcod for 13 SALTWATER anglers, reported Carol Jones of Kahuna Sportfishing. The Checkmate out of Chris’ Fishing Trips in Monterey returned to the dock with 5 lingcod and limits of rockfish (210) for 21 anglers on Saturday, October 26. On the same day, the 20 anglers aboard the Caroline nailed limits of rockfish . Fishing for rockfish, lingcod and halibut is going strong out of Santa Cruz. “The weather was nice all morning and anglers caught some great rockfish, lingcod, and halibut,” said Todd Fraser of Bayside Marine in Santa Cruz. Highlights for yellowfin tuna on the bigger side were an 80 lbs. tuna on Pisces 35’ Knot Workin’, then two just over 100 lbs. caught on Pisces 31’ Tracy Ann on consecutive days, a 157 pounder on Pisces 32’ Bill Collector, and a 225 lbs. yellowfin on Pisces 25’ No Borders.
