“When I am
fishing a frog or
flipping matted
vegetation, I
am throwing the
new X-TCB 8
Carrier Braided
Line form P-Line.
It is critical to
be stealthy with
both techniques,
and with P-line’s
new braid, you
can make longer
casts and it is
ultra quiet com-
ing through the
grass.”

HOT BITES...
1.
SUISUN BAY STURGEON… Keeper sturgeon
are on a red-hot bite. Roe and lamprey eel are
the top baits for anglers working from 15 to 40 feet
deep.
2.
AMADOR RAINBOWS… Big rainbows ranging
up to 7 lbs are cooperating at Amador. Grubs are
a winner for trollers. Bait anglers soak worms.
3.
BODEGA ROCKFISH… Limits of rockfish and
crabs and some bonus lings are hitting the deck
for Bodega Bay charter boaters. Shrimp flies tipped
with squid or Gulp! do the damage.
4.
TAHOE LAKERS… Big mackinaw up to and
beyond 10 lbs are holding in shallow water.
Lyman Lures, Rapalas and minnows are working for
anglers trolling with leadcore line.
GOOD BETS…
5.
COLLINS LAKE TROUT … Trout anglers are
scoring hefty limits while fishing from the bank.
PowerBait and inflated worms are generating strikes.
IT ALL ADDS UP
6.
HALF MOON CRAB…Crabbers are scoring
easy limits. Private boaters are working water
that ranges from 50 to 100 feet deep for commercial
quality crabs.
TO MORE FISH IN THE BOAT.
7.
TRINITY STEEL… Steelhead are holding
throughout the Trinity. Boaters rely on back trolled
plugs, while bankies work with roe, flies, spinners and
spoons.
8.
CAMANCHE RAINBOWS… Limits of rainbow
trout to 4 lbs. have been common. Bank anglers
are using dough bait while trollers pull grubs and
Rapalas..
SLEEPERS…
9.
SHASTA BASS… Bass anglers are nailing 10
to 20 bass per day. Small worms, Senkos and
jigging spoons are producing spots to 3 lbs.
10.
GOLDEN GATE ROCKFISH… Limits of
rockfish and crab are the rule for anglers
fishing the Farallon Islands. Both jigs and shrimp flies
draw strikes from bottomfish.
11.
SAC RIVER STEELHEAD… Steelhead are
scattered from Woodson Bridge to Redding.
Conventional anglers use roe, while fly guys toss a
variety of nymphs and egg imitations.
12.
UMPQUA STEELHEAD…Drift boaters and
plunkers are landing steelhead. Dime size
pieces of cured roe work best, but plugs are hooking
fish too.

eggs, worms and spinners typically work well on the
