Spotted Bass Hit Array of Offerings

OROVILLE – While the king salmon fishing remains very slow at nowfull Lake Oroville , the spotted bass fishing continues to be productive . “ It was an exciting day yesterday ,” said Brent Steele on the Lake Oroville Fishing Reports Facebook Page after this latest bass fishing adventure . “ I caught and released 22 fish while using drop shot rigs , jerkbaits , and ned rigs . I also caught a nice sunfish on a ned rig ” “ I also watched some action between a Bald Eagle and an Osprey , and after scaring off the Osprey I got to take a selfie with the Bald Eagle ,” he added . On his most recent trip to Oroville , Dave Koistinen reported , “ I trolled for king salmon , but there was nothing biting except bass .” He reported doing well on largemouth bass on his latest trip to the Thermalito Afterbay . “ I fished top water lures in the early morning ,” he stated . “ Then the bite slowed down when the sun got up .” The Bidwell Canyon , Spillway , Loafer Creek , Lime Saddle and Enterprise boat ramps are all open to launching , according to the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area . The Foreman Creek , Nelsom Bar , Stringtown and Vinton Gulch car top ramps are also open to boat launching . Lake Oroville is holding 3,489,913 acre feet of water , 99 percent of capacity and 133 percent of average .

- Dan Bacher trollers at the reservoir . “ Today I had the honor of taking out Tad Sampson of Sampson Outdoors and his family for their first ever kokanee trip on Lake Pardee and they smashed it ,” reported Nate Kelsch of Big Nate ’ s Guide Service . “ We dropped a 40 piece on ‘ em , 4 full limits , in 3 hours .” “ Now for the icing on the cake ,” noted Kelsch . “ This was Tad ’ s birthday trip and he wanted a German Brown in the worst way . So we proceeded to the grounds , dropped down the goods and Bingo we got action less then 10 minutes into the troll , and Tad landed his birthday wish fish .” “ After we made the release we went on about our way and

hooked up another nice fish , but this one got lucky and wrapped up 3 lines and popped off . We trolled another 30 minutes or so and called it a day before the heat set in on us ,” he continued . “ Kokanee came deeper then yesterday , from 35 to 60 ft ., they and wanted a faster troll with Paulina Peak big eye dodgers and flutter bugs leading the charge . Whether you want kokanee , kings , rainbows , browns , or bass , I have got you covered ,” he added . Matt Urban of Urban Escape Guide Service also reported topnotch trout fishing at Lake Pardee on his latest trip to the reservoir . “ Today Pardee was full of short striker trout . I lost count of how many we lost but we put 5 in the box for fun while waiting until the Big Bite happened . Finally , after having 2 big bites come loose right away , this one stuck to the Beckman Net at 1 pm on the dot . I ’ m pretty sure everyone heard me yell on the lake when we netted it . Chasing these giants takes patience !. I look for that 2-4 big bites a day , ALL DAY !” Bass fishermen continue to catch a mixture of largemouth and smallmouth bass while fishing plastic worms , drop shot rigs , swimbaits and jerkbaits at Pardee . Lake Pardee is holding 205,982 acre feet of water , 101 percent of capacity and 106 percent of average .
