Trollers Score Easy Limits of Kings and Rainbows
Granite Bay - Despite sizzling temperatures in the Sacramento Valley pushing the surface temperature well over 80 degrees , the rainbow trout and landlocked king salmon fishing has been spectacular for the last couple of weeks . A large concentration of fish has moved into open water chasing an abundant supply of threadfin shad and pond smelt . Spoons trolled between 2.2-3.0 MPH are productive early , but soft plastics and small flies have been picking up fish when the late morning heat sets in . Capt . His clients have landed two kings over 7 pounds in the last couple of trips . “ It is some of the most consistent salmon fishing I have seen at Folsom in a long time . Despite is reputation , Folsom is a great summer fishing option right in our backyard .” Wes reported . Bass anglers are also finding willing fish on structure down to 40 ’.
