New Hogan’s Self-Sustaining Striped Bass Fishery

hen the California Depart-
ment of Fish and Wildlife
(CDFW) stocked stripers in at New
Hogan Reservoir in the early 1970s,
fishery biologists believed that the
lake didn’t have the habitat to sustain
